Great local food, drinks and company!
Very honest pricing!
A must to visit especially off peak times!

A Taxi driver from the airport highly recommended us this bar and restaurant. He said it's the only place that he goes in the old town part of Prague! Everywhere else is catered for tourists and therefore too over priced that the locals can no longer afford. "Very good local food and beer" he said.

We visited this pub on a Thursday night, around 5pm. It was busy but there was still a few tables by the front entrance. The two ladies bar attendants were lovely and very helpful. We sat by the window and had our meal. To our surprise, the food were very fresh, delicious for a pub! We had a few beers, two main courses, a dessert and some local vodka for less than 750.

I ordered the trout with steamed vegetables and it was so delicious! The fish was so fresh and cooked to perfection!

We left around 6:30pm and this place started to fill up. Many were locals dropping in for a quick drink after work.

The next day we went back and the tables upstairs were full. The place was completed packed. It was around 6pm. We went to the basement where there were lots of tables. We had a quick meal and left because it was very hectic. It's completely a different shift of staff. The were all male and they were very unfriendly, to the point of making us uncomfortable! They were quite aggressive.

We went pass the pub again the next day, the same team of staff was running the pub so we avoided them and not coming in.

Two days later we came in as we saw the ladies were back on. They welcomed us and treated us like their friends. We had a wonderful time with them.

The food was consistent for the three visits! And we paid so much more elsewhere for the food that is not even close to what they served here. One of the restaurants we went, we paid three times the money for food that made us very sick!

Certainly a must to visit if you are in Prague old town!

Dobra, znama pivnice, kde vite, ze je na pivo a jidlo spoleh. Nahore se sice kouri, ale to nevadi, protoze dole ve sklepe taky. Zli jazykove pak tvrdi, ze mezi Rudolfinem a Zlatym tygrem hori mnohalety spor o to, kde se toci lepsi pivo. Na druhou stranu budme radi, ze to je takto pozitivni spor. Jidlo zde hledejte ceske, typlicky ceske, takove to co se k pivnicim hodi. Kvalita je na pivnici dobra, porce velke, takze na zahnani hladu idealni.

Stará dobrá klasická pivnice, která nikdy nezklame a neomrzí... jezdíme sem hlavně za výbornou plzničkou, z jídla vyzkoušen hermouš - dobře uzrálý, chutně okořeněný, lehce pikantní... Ano, je zde zakouřeno a obsluha se s vámi nemaže, ale to k tomu všemu prostě patří... Rádi se sem vracíme a stále budeme ;)

Chodil jsem sem na oběd pět dní v týdnu sedm a půl roku, než mě letos v zimě vyhnala opakovaně příliš nízká teplota v sále.  Jídlo standardní dobré kvality bez výkyvů, občas neotřelé nápady, na tuto oblast nejlepší ceny, stále plná hospoda hovoří. Pivo špičkové, kohoutková voda k vínu bez problémů. Jediná chyba: denní lístek na Zomatu uveřejňují až v 10.55, což už je mi na nic.

Typicka ceska hospoda. Dobré pivo, slušný výběr z české kuchyně a navíc za nepřemrštěnou cenu. Není to žádná nóbl restaurace, ale na příjemně straveny večer s přáteli a dobrym pivem ideál.

Great place.  As we read - typical Czech pub with almost no tourists. Very tasty food - fried cheese and bramborak, good cold beer and helpful waiters. We want to go back there!
