First stop when arriving in Prague. Staff took time to find out where we came from and explained the different types of beers, giving recommendations. Food was lovely and not expensive.
We had a New Year’s lunch in this restaurant. We wanted to have a traditional Czech cuisine and we were not disappointed.
The food was just excellent. We had kulajda and beef soups and these were soooo delicious, like from a Czech grandmother :-) The schnitzels were very good although I personally did not like much the innovative style of potato salad but this is a matter of taste. The others in our party liked it. The portions are rather big so be careful :-)
The service is very good, no complaints.
Prague is really busy at this time of year so it was great to find this restaurant with craft beer and great food. The Czech Riesling was really nice as was the apricot schnapps. We went in for a drink and ended up staying all afternoon and having a meal. The chef/ maitre d is very friendly and welcoming. It’s also pretty reasonable for beer food and spirits. Definitely recommend.
This was close to out air bnb so decided to try. Waiter very friendly and had some good recos including the meatloaf sandwich. This was by far the best part of the meal. So GOOD! Husband had mushroom soup which had too much dill for my taste. We also shared the ribs which were fine but the standout on the plate was the coleslaw. Nice hit of horseradish. Yum!
Friendly staff. Great beers. Nice food. Good location. Worth a visit while in Prague. Would go back!
Enjoyed it. Good local restaurant
Share a couple of starters (mixed cheese/ meat and duck carpaccio). Very nice
A goulash and a snitzchel for mains. Also good. Only downside being cold plates for mains which didn’t keep food hot long enough
Nice bottle of Czech white and a beer. 55 quid all in
Staff were efficient. Service just right pace wise. Would go again
Make sure to book as it’s busy
Friendly and funny staff go for it! =) good food and great staff. Had a good time and nice beer. Me and my wife would gladly visit again.
This is a must try restaurant in the center of Old Town if you want excellent and authentic Czech food prepared by a very talented chef. We had already tried many of the "best" restaurants recommended but we pushed our Concierge at the Carlo IV to tell us where he would take his good friends for a great meal. He sent us here. It is a cross between a pub and cool place to eat. The menu is not extensive but there is something for everyone and I think it translated into very fresh ingredients. The food was a like gourmet home cooking and the prices are truly reasonable. Having trouble deciding, we each ordered a dish and then another for the center of the table that we all shared! Everything, and I mean everything, was delicious. It was our favorite meal because it was authentic cuisine but at an elevated level. That is saying something since we went to some very expensive restaurants during our stay and I am not writing a review for them! The traditional Czech soup and the broth soup each had such an amazing taste and there was not a drop left. Put this one on your list.
We’ve tried Saint Martin’s roasted goose. So gooooood and tastyyyyy!!! This is how the goose is supposed to be!
Lunchtime chicken escolape with mashed potato or goulash and beer all served very quickly and vert tasty food. Brilliant value.
One of our favorite places we went to in Prague. They had modern versions of classic Czech food and it was soo good. Our waiter was so great and recommended good local beer. The atmosphere and prices are also great, would highly recommend!!
It was ok. We stopped for beers a couple of times and did have dinner there one night. It was handy. We stopped in about 9 pm one night and they seemed a little cranky about the lateness of the evening I guess.
We stopped in here on our way back to our (nearby) hotel after a long, hot day. We were just looking for a beer or two and something to eat, but for a casual place, the food was stunningly good, and very reasonably priced. We meant to come back, but simply ran out of time in Prague.
Jumped in here out of the rain one afternoon and ended up staying for a few hours, sampling the beer / gin, and playing card games. Very spacious, modern, and stylish bar. Really relaxed, and the perfect place to spend a chilled afternoon avoiding the rain! So much so we went back another afternoon!
My husband, 14 y/o son and I had lunch here. Everything was really tasty. They have 4 homemade brews on tap - we tried two and they were both excellent. My son had a mango-mint lemonade that he enjoyed. The food was excellent. My husband had the lunch plate (pork tenderloin with peppers and onions and a green peppercorn sauce) which was wonderful and reasonably priced. My son had duck breast with plums, red cabbage (much milder than we have had elsewhere) and potato dumplings which was excellent and I had a salad with beets and fried goat cheese which was delicious. The service was also excellent. I highly recommend this off-the-beaten-track restaurant.
We stopped here on our stroll around Prague. We ordered the fried cheese plate, and a pork salad (along with beers!) And every thing was delicious. If you can grab a seat outside definately do it, enjoy the fresh air in Prague while eating delicious foods.
We were looking for a local traditional restaurant. Wow!! Fabulous food, beer and service. We had the goats cheese and steak tartar to start, then a traditional Czech meal of beef, dumplings and delicious veg ragu and yummy sauce. The beer also was very tasty.
Food, staff and beer unbelievable! When in Prague find this place great local place. Everyone lived their food.
Pleasant pub atmosphere. Beer selection, including locally crafted beers is good. Food is excellent and not the average menu; apple and beet salad followed by chicken breast supreme, both very good. Staff is friendly, prompt and helpful. Nothing pretentious. Easily a 4-4.5. Definitely recommended.
Perfectly prepared, simple ingredients old fashion cooking, but not boring. Great beers, good service.
