I went to the bar Bernard with my friends on 5th of January 2020. It is located in Prague, Radicka street. This is a quiet and cozy bar, also people can enjoy watching sport programs there.
We sat down at the table and ordered some beer. When we ordered freshly baked chips the waiter said something in Czech to the man next to him and he laughed. We felt mocked and insulted. We asked for the bill and wanted to pay by card. They started shouting and saying that Russian language is a problem for them. However there was no information that payment by card is not available at the moment. So we were misinformed. So after that they said we must go to the bank and withdraw money. It was very unpleasant situations and our evening was ruined. I think that people’s behavior should not depend on political situations because we are not responsible for our politicians. Anyway, I hope that this situation will not be repeated and all people will be treated respectfully and equally. I used to come to Prague and to this bar every year and I haven’t had such situations before.
Best beer and prices for food are very good !!!!! Look out for daily special menus !!! Excellent service !
We celebrated there the 30th of my husband. Everything was great - from first comunnication and planning - to the end of party. The staff is friendly and helpful, also management there. They have very good meals and can prepare you everything for your party. The place has good location in Anděl, just a 100 m from the metro station. It was the great party in the great czech pub! Thank you guys!
Found Bernard Pub after a long day travelling. Beer is cheap and food too but good quality. Very relaxed atmosphere and friendly and efficient staff. Goulash very tasty and apple strudel. Beer is 39 Czech crown a .5l
Warm welcome, excellent meals, good food not fast food, good sized portions, excellent choice and quality of beers, wonderful service, added a great deal to the enjoyment of our visit to Prague.
It was recommended to us by hotel desk. Food was good, beer was excellent. Antonin and Zdenek were great at serving us. Super nice guys which are really working hard to please customers. Overall we were happy with whole experience
In addition to enjoying our burgers and beer, we had great service. Maybe it’s because we were there with our Czech friends? Our server was attentive and helpful but not pushy. She explained the beers and helped us make selections. My friends had the “Tar Tar” and we had burgers. All the the food was very good. I definitely would go there again!
We went for a drink and to look at the menu. A lot of items were crossed off and the bar had no personality.
Service was good and the beer ok but it didn’t inspire us to stay for dinner.
Bernard remains one of my favorite Czech beers. Mild, gentle and rich at the same time. And where better to have a Bernard than - Bernard Pub. Wide choice of beers accompanied by Czech/international meny - steaks, burgers, chicken. Very nice and pleasant place for weekends, or relaxation after work. Since it's a Bernard pub, the ale is fresh and straight from the big tank. Not too cheap, but definitely worth the money. Close to the Andel metro station.
Only around the corner from our hotel we found this small pub, where one will find plenty of similar establishment in Prague. Bernard seems cleaner and newer, with a more modern deco hence we went. We were not disappointed with the wonderful Bernard beer and their food was also very tasty, and reasonably priced. We will be back next time when in Prague.
Just up the road from our Hotel, Occidental Praha Five and it was a good find.
Good food & beer at very reasonable prices.
We popped in on our way back from a day of sightseeing and booked a table for later that evening, good job we did as they were very busy.
Service was efficient and we would have gone back there had we stayed longer.
We will really miss this pub, the food is delicious and quite cheap. Here it is possible to eat traditional meals... the place is very nice and comfortable, all the staff is very polite and they can speak a wounderful english. And..about the dessert...oh my Gosh..
Went by Trip Advisors recommendations...very happy, food was very good, plentiful and reasonable in price. Had to ask for white wine to be colder, but staff obliged happily.
With my co-workers we've found this pub on Friday evening, and luckily we were able to find the table, as I know, it's always quite full on weekends. Friendly staff, quick service, wide assortment of beers and tasty burgers - perfect place to hang out with friends, not only on Friday!
I went there for a lunch with my friends. Food was tasty and I order also limonade which contained so much sugar.
abit far from normal turist attractions but worthy to go. absolutely great food ... mainly špekáčky na černém pivu. u have to try this. and black beer lavina is a must
Our accommodation was really close to this pub, and been crowded. Last day we found a free place and decided to come in. We was greeted by a nice waitress which served ALL local. The beer was really good and burgers was the best what we eat outside till this day. Unfortunately fries was not homemade and from freezer. Overall was the best place during three days what we spent in prague. We will back next time :)
